THE TABLE

Kaiserswerth Museum 2021

At the start of the performance on the day of the exhibition opening on October 1st, 2021, there were two black chairs in the room at a table covered with German and Israeli newspapers. There were various items from the usual household. A nearby stack of newspapers awaited the installation participants.

Dina Blich invited her guests to actively participate. You may choose an article from a newspaper and a household item lying on the table. The participants in the performance could pack these objects in their own way. Combined by participant’s , well-known objects lost their own character and bit by bit took on a new form.

The served table slowly turned into a mysterious and dry newspaper landscape and the objects were manipulated in such a way that they could no longer be distinguished from one another. To the faceless pane created Dina added two living elements: water and flowers . At the end it was created a live installation, that can be modified by visitors throughout the exhibition. This is an opportunity for reflection how do we deal with the flood of media information?
